We have no food without them

http://www.environmentmassachusetts.org/programs/mae/no-bees-no-food

In the past few years Bee populations have been dying out at a unprecedented rate. Bee keepers are saying up to 30% of their bees are dying out each winter twice the amount they consider economically tolerable. We as a people need to protect these bees because without them we wont have food or pretty flowers to look at and we would have no food to eat.

  1. i think something we could do to fix this problem would be to figure out what is causing bees to not be doing as well as they previously were. and once we find this out, we will be able to take futher actions and recieve further detail on how we can help. science is extremely detailed already and improving every day, we can always do something to change.

  2. We all know that bees need to leave their hive for pollination, it's simply a part of the honey-making process. The thing is, farmers are using insecticides on their crops to keep bugs away, which is mercilessly killing the bees attempting to pollinate. A bunch of bees leave the hive; only a handful come back. And for the beekeepers, there is really nothing they can do about it. The fate of the bees is almost entirely in the hands of the farmers using the pesticides. In this case, all we can do is try to draw their attention to the issue and hope that they will make the switch to organic, or simply to less harmful pesticides.
