Terrorism on U.S. Soil
U.S. authorities have raised defenses at U.S. military bases, and put police forces on alert and increased surveillance at the national airports, railroads, shopping malls, energy plants and other potential targets. For the past couple of years, The United States has been on its toes about terror threats and attacks. In the past 20 years, there has been more than 125 terror attacks on the United States. We can assume that terrorism is going to grow on U.S soil, but how can we stop it?-Olivia C
Nice post, with a very concerning issue. You used a lot of cool facts.
ReplyDeleteI like your post because you used a very concerning issue. I also wonder how we would be able to stop it without having the U.S. become a dystopian government of military protection.
ReplyDeleteLike you said Cat, we need to stop it but racial profiling if also a big issue surrounding it, because you can't just go up to someone you think is a terrorist, because of how they look. There is no way to know who is a terrorist and I think that can be misconceived a lot. Maybe if we could just live in a perfect world where nobody dies, but that isn't going to happen. People will die, but it's our job not to attack the innocent people.
DeleteMcKenna, I definitely agree. People can't just look at someones race, and say "Hey, there (that race) they are a terrorist! its not fair to those people who could be peacemakers of their country. Its like saying everyone in the U.S wants war!
Deletethanks for the comment, - Olivia C

ReplyDeleteThis is a big concern considering the safety of the United States. I wonder about the White House and the security in place there. I have a feeling that there is a lot that we do not know about. I think that is one of the reasons why the terrorists are primarily aiming at bases. That's crazy that there was 125 terrorist attacks in 20 years though.
ReplyDeleteFun fact, the F.B.I. declassified a document. That document was an operation where the U.S. was going to pay terrorists to attack the U.S. as an excuse to attack terrorist groups in other countries.
ReplyDelete125 that is a big number I did not relies that there were that many in the past 20 years.
ReplyDeleteSince the U.S. Is one of the world's leading powers, terrorists would want to take us down. That # of 125 would grow tremendously. Soon (in many years) we could be in three situations, either there is constant surveillance and no freedom or common terrorist attacks or just peace. If terrorism ends, which we all want, the future will be very bright.
