Turtles are mysterious animals that live their lives both under the sea and on the land. They can live up to about 150 years depending on the species. Although they might not be around for very long. Their great race is becoming endangered because they are being collected as pets. This act is resulting in decreasing of local population! They are also stranded on shores left to die. ReplyDeleteCollected as local pets? That doesn't seem nice. People should realize that they don't own the wildlife and have no right to tamper with it. I wonder how they would feel if they were taken from their home and put into a small cage.
ReplyDeleteSea turtles are such a fragile species that we should not be collecting for pets. I know that this is also a problem with many bird species and animals, usually because they are hard to breed in captivity so no one has started a breeding system. Maybe the solution would be to start a captive breeding program for the turtles.
