Massachusetts needs to go big on solar because getting 10 percent solar by 2030 would be the equivalent of taking 59 million cars off the road. Thats removing 280 million metric tons of carbon from our atmosphere!

I completely agree, more people need to start using energy efficient cars. Electric cars would be a great alternative. With the amount of gas the average electric car could in 100 miles, the average gas car could only go ~39. It would definitely help reduce global warming.
ReplyDeleteYou make a really good point, many people need to start moving to solar panels, in your article it, it states that 39% Of our energy comes from coal, and 2% of our energy comes from the sun. This is extremely crucial to the amount of energy we have to use for other things. Fortunately many people are switching to solar. As Andrew stated; the use of solar panels will surely slow down the process of global warming
ReplyDeleteI agree this is a shocking story, and using solar panels would definitely be cleaner and more effective. I think people have formed habit driving cars and don't try to change.
ReplyDeleteIf 10 percent solar energy is equal to 59 million cars off the road than, having about 253 million cars in the U.S. means if we could raise the percentage by 30 percent it would almost be equivalent to getting all the cars off the road! (If the increase of solar power is consistent it would take about 64 years sadly)
ReplyDelete(P.s) the increase in solar energy will probably get more popular over the years but this comment is more of a "what if" than a solid fact.
