Well it's pretty hard to compare AIDS and Ebola in such a way. They both have terrible symptoms that, if left untreated, can and will kill you, they also both have pretty bad statistics on their sides. But I think that Ebola is significantly worse than AIDS in many ways, for example The mortality rate of Ebola is 70.8 percent, and AIDS having a mere 0.144 percent in 2006 which is now still continuing to drop. Another reason that Ebola is worse is the symptoms of it are just that extra step more harsh, with the whole deal of Internal bleeding, coughing up blood and an extreme case of nausea and diarrhea. Even though aids is a terrible disease, it does have a good amount of treatment, all you need is to take two pills a day and that's all you need to survive. However with Ebola there really isn't too much you can do, just give the victim fluids and hope for the best. This really does make Ebola just that little bit worse, even though both of these Viruses are lethal if left untreated, Ebola Is much more likely to become transmitted making it worse that aids.
This is obviously a huge problem considering that "more than 1.8 million people in the U.S. are estimated to have been infected with HIV." It's scary that over "650,000 who have already died" and that an estimated "16% of those infected with HIV". I believe that the solution to preventing this potentially fatal disease is by before engaging in sexual intercourse, testing both you and your partner for Aids/HIV or any other STIs. Another solution is to catch the disease early by being regularly tested for it so that you can be ascribed treatment in the early stages of the disease.
Wow, I agree with you that this is a problem. According to your article more then 1.8 million people have been infected by HIV, including over 650,000 people who have already died. This is shocking to think about this many people whom have died, or loved one has died due to HIV. People need to be more aware of how common this disease is. It really never did pay to have aids.
Aids is such a huge problem that deserves more attention from doctors to cure. Your article said that over 650,00 people are infected by HIV.
