Cape Cod Waterways Face Pollution Problems

Living by a lake is beautiful, but what if everything underneath it is dead? Rising nitrogen levels are suffocating the vegetation and marine life in saltwater ponds. The pollution is dangerous and many saltwater ponds are no longer okay to swim in. This problem can effect health, tourism and the economy. Putting this problem aside wont make it go away, the longer we wait the worse it will get.

  1. This sounds like a very pressing issue. It seems if we act sooner rather than later it'll be easier to solve. I don't know much about nitrogen bubbling, but it sounds like either clogging the leaks or safely emptying the pockets of gas would be the best.

  2. Even though I'm not super clear on why or how the nitrogen is rising, I still agree it is quite the adversity. As someone who loves going to Cape Cod every summer, I would absolutely hate for the entire place to be ruined. I'll definitely do more research on this then get back to this comment chat (if I still have school by the time I'm done), but overall, there really should be more testing and observation done on these areas in order to get more information to the public.
